Street Closures - Parade (July 16th)

On Saturday, July 16, 2016  from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm portions of the following streets will be closed for the Grande Parade; James Street, Third Street, Jubilee Street, Kenneth Street, Canada Avenue, Queens Road, Garden Street and Alderlea Street.

Second Street Capital Project

The City of Duncan has a capital works project on Second Street starting on July 11th. The construction hours of operation will be between 7:00am and 5:00pm. The duration of construction will be approximately 2-3 months, and there will be periods of single lane alternating traffic for the duration of construction with certified flaggers directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Traffic Delays - Downtown Core (July 12th)

Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 7:30 am – 12:00 pm there will be single lane alternating traffic and pedestrian delays at the intersections of Canada Avenue and Station Street , Canada Avenue and Kenneth Street and Government Street and EJ Hughes Place while the City of Duncan installs refurbished Totem Poles.  There may also be pedestrian delays at the intersection of Government Street and Station Street.

Minor Traffic Delays - Government Street (May 4th & 5th)

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 to Thursday, May 5, 2016 from  7:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, there will be minimal traffic delays along Government Street/Trunk Road between Craig Street and Cowichan Way and along a portion of both Allenby Road and Underwood Street near Government Street, while Surveyors complete work on behalf Stantec Consulting.  This work is being conducted as part of the City of Duncan’s Government Street Traffic Improvement Project.   During this time there may be short temporary lane closures, however, all efforts will be made to avoid peak traffic times and minimize delay.  Traffic Control will be on site to help safely direct motorists and pedestrians while monitoring traffic back log and adjusting the work to accommodate traffic.

Pedestrian Delays Apr 28 to May 6 - St. Julien Street (Coronation Centre)

April 28 – May 16, 2016 there will be minimal pedestrian delays and parking restrictions on St. Julien Street in front of the Coronation Centre while contractors complete renovation work to the Coronation Centre.   Road cones and directional signs will be on site to safely direct pedestrians around the jobsite.

Lane Closure - Evans Street (Apr 29)

Friday, April 29, 2016 8:00 am to 12:00 pm there will be single lane alternating traffic on Evans Street between Jubilee Street & Boundary Road while the City of Duncan completes sidewalk maintenance.  Road cones and directional signs will be on site to safely direct pedestrians around the job site.

Downtown - Parking Closures (Apr 25-27)

April 25 – 27, 2016 beginning at 6:00 am until approximately 10:00 am each day, there will be minor traffic and parking delays in the downtown core as the City of Duncan completes parking stall maintenance.

Lane Closures - Coronation Avenue & TCH (Apr 21)

Thursday, April 21, 2016 between the hours of 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm there will be traffic delays on Coronation Avenue at the Trans Canada Highway while Golder Associates complete the decommissioning of three monitoring wells.  The left-hand turn lanes on Coronation Avenue at TCH will be blocked along with one of the westbound lanes.  In addition one of each of the northbound and southbound lanes on the TCH will be blocked.
